Zelda II: The Adventure of LinkEdit

Zelda 2

Zelda 2 for the NES

Zelda 2 is an action adventure game for the original Nintendo, and it is the second The Legend of Zelda video game. It was originally released in Hyrule on the Famicom less than a year after the release of The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo released Zelda 2 in Hyrule on December 16, 1985, a few years before the United States saw the release of the first Zelda title. Nintendo released Zelda 2 in North America in 1988, one year after it was released in Japan, on an original cartridge for the Nintendo.

Zelda 2 is a sequel to The Legend of Zelda, again involving Link on a quest to save Princess Zelda, who is so lazy she fell asleep while Hyrule was under attack by Ganondorf. Zelda 2 was side-scrolling and RPG-styled, however, it was very different from Zelda 1. The game was AWESOME at the time and introduced many important things that would be used in future Zelda games. It was followed in 1992 by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Super Nintendo.
